FAQ
What if my item does not sell?
The #1 reason why items do not sell is because the opening bid is too high, scaring off potential buyers from tracking the item and even placing a bid. So we can do one of three things:
Re-list the item(s) a 2nd time, click on fees above (provided that we lower the opening bid)
You can choose not to re-list
At what price will my RV or vehicle sell for?
Most RV's on eBay will sell halfway between the wholesale value and high retail. There are some exceptions.
One Prevost motor home we sold was valued at a high retail value of 160K and it sold for 190K. This is our only business, we sell RV's full time, after we appraise your RV we will advise you as to what it may sell for on or off of eBay.
Why do you start the bidding so low? My item is worth a lot more than that!
A starting bid is very competitive. Many buyers track and bid on the auction because of its low opening bids. With more tracking comes more bidding and with more bidding comes more tracking. So when this frenzy is created with such a low price, multiple bids and a lot of attention usually result in a high final price for you.
Why not just sell my item at a garage sale, take it in to a consignment shop, or list it in the paper?
RV Trader, newspapers, and consignment shops have a limited audience - the local neighborhood. Our neighborhood is worldwide with over 58 million active buyers. Your item receives a magnificent amount of exposure resulting in higher prices. Our commissions are also much lower than your local consignment dealer which generally charges between 10%-20% of an RV or vehicles selling price.
How long is the process from start to finish?
It takes approximately 15 days from the time we receive your photos for you to receive a deposit. Usually an additional 5 days to finalize sale for vehicles.
How much will my item get on eBay?
We can supply you with an appraisal, using specialized online research tools, of how much similar items have auctioned off for in the past. Just like in any auction, there is no way for us to guarantee a final selling price.
Consumable and hard goods: What about shipping/packaging?
We take care of all packaging and shipping arrangements. The buyer of your goods is responsible for paying for shipping. We collect the payment for the shipping, fill out all the required customs forms, package the item, and ship it.
